This is one great textbook if you are looking to get into the Medical Staff Services Profession. It gives you very detailed information and is a great reference for questions that you may have in a job such as this. The book comes with a CD that have even more content then the book, but I have yet to use it. The book does refer to it if you wish to know information about a topic that they are discussing in the book.There is quite a bit of information in the book so I could see someone becoming overwhelmed very quickly but the book will help you with any questions you may have or any feelings of being lost in the Medical Staff Services Profession.
First of all, I want to say that the statement Dan Statler made was incorrect about this book. It is excellent and a great study guide for medical credentialing. I have often referred to this book as the "BIBLE" of credentialing. I have taken classes from Cindy Gassiot and this book has all the information that anyone will ever need to be knowledge concerning the principles of medical staff credentialing. I would highly recommend this book.Mary Jane Morton

This book is made up from a bunch of separate articles. The information sometimes conflicts between the articles or between some of the terminology used. If you want to study for one of the certificate exams, it might be better just to purchase a exam study tool to prepare for the latest exam. The previous edition of thsi book was just as bad.
Would recommend this Handbook for every Medical Staff Services Department.It is a very thorough overview of all MSSD operations.Hoping to take advantage of the CEU offerings.Thank you!
