Frommer's is our preferred travel guide and the new edition of Frommer's Germany is a shining example of quality of substance and presentation.

A little commercial in style. Doesn't go into the rural travels and sights like I would prefer.

Very concise and informative!

Book was totally beat up when it arrived. Looks used even though I ordered new. Disappointing.

Lots of information, ya especially because pictures and maps ar included!

I bought this guide, and two others, to figure out where in Germany I wanted to go this spring, and I can say definitively that this was the best of the lot. It’s fun to read, really well-organized, filled with helpful maps, and most helpfully, gives great itineraries that you can use to figure out logical ways to use your time. I ended up spending most of my time in Berlin, Potsdam, Leipzig and Dresden. I think it was in Potsdam when I ditched the other books and used this one exclusively. The advice and details in it were far more up-to-date, and while they took me to the iconic sights, I also felt like this book had more of a handle on today’s Germany, taking me to some amazing restaurants and clubs where I was the only American. In one case, the info in the book turned out to be correct, whereas what I found online (I did some web research that I printed out to take with) was dead wrong. In short: Get this book. It will make your trip.
